The Beginning: Breaking Ground
In 2002, Ghana's mining sector was dominated by industry giants Sandvik, Metso, and Morgardshammer. Through effective representation, HOLDTRADE GROUP facilitated FLSmidth's emergence as a prominent player in the field, setting new benchmarks for operational excellence.
A Milestone Achievement
In 2004, just two years after initiating their representation, FLSmidth was commissioned to install the Tarkwa SS SAG, the largest volume mill in the world at the time, measuring 28 feet by 42 feet and boasting a capacity of 14.4MW. This achievement was monumental as Tarkwa, previously a stronghold for Metso and Sandvik with 22 crushers installed, embraced FLSmidth's cutting-edge technology.
Expansion and Excellence: Pushing Boundaries
By 2006, FLSmidth expanded its footprint in Ghana with orders to install two new mills, each 5MW, and a reconditioned 60/89 gyratory crusher at the nearby Bogosu plant. The success continued with HOLDTRDE GROUP facilitating the installation of two additional mills, including a second 14.4MW mill at Tarkwa, two mills and a gyratory crusher at Perseus, 14 flotation cells across two operations, and a thickener.
